DRAMA.  As part of the Genesis reflection series, we are planning a drama (entitled God Intended It For Good--The Joseph Story) for the August 2nd worship.  Joy is looking for 8-9 people who would like to be involved in its presentation.   Here is a description of what's expected:

  1. Parts do not need to be memorized as we will use a Readers Theatre approach, but you do need to be familiar with your part and how to "play" it.
  2. I would schedule one or two practices.
  3. Costume and props are minimal and I have some ideas for these and would hope for further input from the actors.
  4. Characters include: 2 narrators; Joseph; Jacob; Judah; Reuben; Simeon; Baker/Steward; Cupbearer/Benjamin; 2 news reporters.

Please respond to Joy Versluis

SCHOOL KITS.  It is time to start collecting items for school kits for Mennonite Central Committee.  We (Service and Outreach Committee) will be collecting items until Sept. 20.  You may donate whole kits or select items.  The requested items are:

 Contents (NEW items only)

SUNDAY SCHOOL.  Plans are underway for children's Sunday School.  A community like ours presents some challenges and a lot of wonderful opportunities for both our young people and the adults who work with them.  At this time we want to know if you want a part in educating and supporting our children in their faith journey.  Flexibility is the word in our planning.  We are flexible about time commitment, skill and experience level and the amount of planning you want or can take on.  There will be an adapted curriculum. Patti Sprunger is organizing an the one to contact regarding your interest; sprunger2@hotmail.com or (248) 437-4263. Think about it, pray about it.  The Nurture Committee
