Introduction to anointing for healing

Hymn:  Anoint us Lord                                                                                       HWB 631

Unison Prayer

                Dear God,

                We come to you at this moment because you love us.

                You know us more deeply than we know ourselves.

                You desire wholeness for each of your children,

                Broken though we are in body, mind and spirit.

                As we come before you, we pray for healing

                In each of our lives.

                Heal the hurt and disease within us.

                Heal the wounds inflicted upon us.

                Heal the memories that haunt us.

            Heal the feelings that drag us down.

                Where there is anxiety, grant peace and confidence;

                Where there is impatience, give the gift of serenity;

                Where there is loneliness, come as the great comforter;

                Where there is pain, give strength to endure.

                In all the experiences of our lives,

                May we feel Your presence in new ways,

                And may our faith be increased.

                In the name of Christ Jesus we pray,                                                Amen.
